Prof. Wayne Enright shares how different his experience as a student in the 60s and 70s was compared with the student experience today. He graduate with a PhD in computer science from U of T in 1972. Prof. Enright's experience at UTSC (then Scarborough College) began as a TA in computer science courses through the Math Department. Hired in 1971, Enright describes his first impressions of the small campus and the city. He discusses his experience initiating and building a Computer Science program on campus and talks about the importance of Co-ops to the growth of the Comupter Science program in the 1980s. Enright shares his sense of the changes that have taken place as a result of campus growth, from a small intergrated community to everybody in "their own little silo," and the challenges associated with research and teaching split between UTSC and the downtown campus.
