John Harper, Systems Manager with UTSC Information and Instructional Technology Serivces (IITS), talks about what it was like growing up in Scarborough. He came to UTSC in the 1960s as an undergraduate in Astronomy and completed all three of degrees- undergrad, masters, and PhD- at UTSC. Harper talks about how he moved into his job at UTSC with Computing and Networking Services. He shares his sense of the changes that have taken place on campus since the early days of the small campus community including: the amazing expansion in the application of technology from mainframes through the first introduction of desktops to wifi, and the relationship between Scarborough College and the main campus. Harper reflects on his reasons for staying in Scarborough and the development of the green space that makes up Scarborough today.
